Amelia Park Wins at the Dan Murphy’s National Wine Show of Australia 2011
We are very proud to announce that our Amelia Park Cabernet Merlot 2010 has been awarded the Trophy for the Best Red Blend at the prestigious Dan Murphy’s National Wine Show of Australia 2011. This is a fantastic win for us against some extremely strong competition from around the Nation.
The Dan Murphy's National Wine Show of Australia is Australia’s premier national show. The Show invites entries from across Australia with the purpose of judging and promoting the best of the best Australian wines. Wines must qualify through Australian regional and capital city wine shows to enter this show.
This win shows Jeremy Gordon’s continued consistency in making exceptional Bordeaux style wines. Jeremy has won numerous awards for this signature style over the last few years including a Trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards, the Hong Kong International Wine Show as well as the famed Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy along with a raft of trophies at National wine shows across Australia.
This week also saw us awarded a Blue Gold Top 100 medal for the 2010 Mishmash Red at the Sydney International Wine Competition 2012. Another great result at a major national show.

Jeremy is toast of London.
by John Lewis from the Newcastle Herald 1st June 2011
The Amelia Park 2009 Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, which I reviewed on August 8 last year, has won the trophy for the best Australian red Bordeaux varietal over £10 at the prestigious Decanter magazine World Wine Awards in London.
Amelia Park is a venture involving young gun winemaker Jeremy Gordon, 39, his wife Daniela, 38, and Margaret River businessman Peter Walsh.
The Decanter success follows the award of two gold medals at the 2011 Sydney Wine Show earlier this year.
The Amelia Park 2009 Margaret River Cabernet Merlot won gold in the 2009 vintage cabernet sauvignon or cabernet sauvignon blends class and the Amelia Park 2009 Margaret River Shiraz won a gold medal in the 2009 vintage shiraz or shiraz blends class.
The 2009 cabernet merlot, was among the finalists in the 2010 Jimmy Watson Trophy judging at the Melbourne Wine Show, has sold out in Australia but the 2009 shiraz is still available at $29 a bottle on ameliaparkwines.com.au.
In 2008 the Flametree 2007 Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, made by Jeremy, won the Jimmy Watson and was judged the best red wine and the best red blend at the 2008 Qantas Western Australian Wine Show and the best red blend at the 2008 Perth Wine Show.

Amelia Park Wins Trophy at Decanter World Wine Awards 2011

We are very proud and excited to announce that our Amelia Park Cabernet Merlot 2009 has been awarded the Trophy for the Best Australian Red Bordeaux Varietal over £10 at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards. This is a fantastic win for us against some extremely strong competition from around Australia.
The Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) has gained a reputation as one of the world’s most respected and influential wine competitions.
This year, the 211 DWWA judges were from all around the world, including a fifth of the world's population of Masters of Wine. Top sommeliers, including 12 Master Sommeliers, wine critics and wine writers, many of whom are also the aforementioned Masters of Wine, all contributed to the 2011 DWWA results.
During judging week, Tony Aspler, DWWA Regional Chair for Canada, told Decanter.com: “This is not an easy competition. In order to get a gold, a silver, a bronze or even a commended award, you have to be a top-notch wine. The quality of the judges, and I’m talking about people from all over the world who are at that are at the top of their game are tasting these wines. If you get an award here, you’ve achieved something to really be proud of.”
